Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia chairman and former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the Opposition is gunning to take over the state governments of Perak and Terengganu via crossovers. He said that following Jorak assemblyman Datuk Dr Shahruddin Salleh's recent crossover from Umno to Pribumi. In response, Johor Umno secretary Datuk Md Jais Sarday announced that Dr Shahruddin’s membership had been revoked. He also dismissed the Opposition’s claims that Barisan had lost two-thirds majority in the state assembly and that more Johor Umno members would jump ship to Pribumi.
