Pakatan Harapan and BN supporters exchanged insults as they left the nomination centre.
BN supporters shouted "barua" (lackey), "penipu" (liars) and "anjing" (dogs) at Harapan supporters.
Harapan supporters shot back, shouting "rasuah" (corruption) and "Rosmah" in reference to the wife of former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak.
The war of words went on for around 20 minutes before police instructed them to disperse.
