Penang police have busted a drug trafficking syndicate responsible for mixing drugs worth more than RM330,000 with tea, fruit juice and chocolate powder into drinks sachets, in a raid in the state.
The sachets with drugs are sold for about RM200 each, mainly at entertainment outlets.
Penang police chief Comm Datuk T. Narenasagaran said police busted the syndicate following two raids on the island on Wednesday and seized 276 packets of the powdered drinks containing about 381g of MDMA, 1.2kg of ketamine, 2,000 ecstasy pills, 5,070 Erimin 5 pills, 47gm of syabu, 21 cigarettes containing ganja and tools for grinding and sealing.
Four local men, aged between 24 and 55, as well as a 29-year-old Vietnamese woman were arrested and are remanded until May 1 under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code to help in investigation under Section 39(B)(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
