Taiwan's president, Tsai Ing-wen, visited Yilan on Monday to meet family members of passengers killed in a train accident.
Eighteen people died and 175 were injured when a train derailed in north-eastern Taiwan on Sunday.
Four carriages overturned in the crash, which occurred in Yilan County near the coast on a line popular among tourists.
