Part one of Tan Sri Dr Fong Chan Onn's talk on “The Chinese Primary School: A Tale of Its Adaption to Multi-Ethnic Environment”, where the former Education Minister elaborated on the challenging journey of the Malaysian Chinese elementary schools – evolving over more than a century from humble origins to become the present-day Malaysian government-supported Chinese primary schools. Dr Fong spent a year visiting and photographing 150 Chinese schools around the country to document them for posterity.
