September, 1998 was a fateful month for Malaysia; its Deputy Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim was sacked from the government.

The sacking ignited protests and brought about the Reformasi movement which called for government reforms, in particular targeting corruption and cronyism. Their target was then Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

This year is the 15th anniversary of Reformasi. Anwar was sacked on 2nd September and arrested on the 20th.

To mark the occasion, we speak to activists and asked them what Reformasi is to them, then and now.

Student leader Adam Adli was 9 years old at this time, and learning of the incident from the peripheral vision of his mind; from the conversations of his parents, from media and from a classmate whose parents were also Anwar's supporters. But back then, even his teachers were talking about it to 9 year olds. Such was the intensity of the events.
