Tana Mongeau is under fire for an choosing to dress up as an inappropriate version of JoJo Siwa on Halloween.
Let us just point out that JoJo is only 15 years old.
This Halloween, Tana Mongeau wore a few costumes, including a sexy version of 15-year-old social media influencer JoJo Siwa. And let’s just say people are not thrilled with the look. The costume is pretty much just as cringe-worthy as it sounds, complete with a bra, thong, tutu, thigh-high fishnets and, of course, Jojo’s signature hair bows. The 20-year-old even went as far as to refer to herself as QUOTE “Hoe Hoe Siwa” while wearing it.
Considering the Dance Moms alum is is a minor, you could only imagine how shocked and angry people were when Tana revealed Thai costume. Inevitably, her replies were flooded with people calling her out for over-sexualizing a teenager.
One fan wrote QUOTE “am i the only one disturbed by this .... love tana but this feels like the sexualization of a child …”
Another added QUOTE “Can’t wait for the apology video for tagging a CHILD in a half naked picture of herself lol.”
Someone else pointed out that Jake Paul, who also dressed up as JoJo for Halloween, did the whole the with way more respect than Tana. The fan said QUOTE “Sorry tana but like how tf jake Paul do it more respectfully than you”
The situation got worse when popular Youtube star Shane Dawson decided to retweet the picture of Tana’s costume without a second thought. People thought this was creepy because he’s 30 years old and was seemingly unaware of the backlash. A tweet to Shane and Tana said QUOTE “the fact that shane rted this and thought nothing wrong of it really makes me frustrated with him even more. love u dude but c'mon”
While Tana definitely received tons of backlash over her inappropriate costume, not everyone found that it was problematic. In fact, some of her fans really liked the idea and thought the whole thing was funny.
A girl named Anna called it the QUOTE “Greatest Halloween costume of all time!” and another fan said QUOTE “MY CHEST HURTS FROM LAUGHING”
