And leave it to their mutual pal Taylor Swift to spread a little inspiration for the song, because that’s what famous friends are for, right?
So it looks like the rumors are true…ok, half true, seeing that Camila and Shawn really HAVE been spending a lot of time together after they both took to Twitter to share even more details about their new project.
Shawn tweeted his excitement just yesterday, saying, QUOTE, “Have a new single coming next week! Been working on this song for months now and am so excited about it! #IKWYDLS” and in another tweet, he wrote, “It's a secret song from Handwritten Revisited that I co-wrote with @camilacabello97! #IKWYDLS”
Camila added onto the hype, also revealing the inspiration for the song, writing, “We wrote this together backstage at one of Taylor's 1989 shows out of a random jam session #IKWYDLS @shawnmendes”.
Who wouldn’t find some fresh inspiration from an international superstar slaying her world tour?! But along with the short social media teaser, a special website was also created for the song; however, it’s currently filled with a mess of static until the actual release of the song on November 18th.
So if we had to guess what the song could possibly be about, well, seeing that Shawn toured with Taylor and Fifth Harmony sang onstage with Taylor during one of her shows, we’re thinking that’s exactly what the two did all summer, and who knows, the song could possibly reveal a secret summer fling between the two… one can only hope.
