Police are still investigating the motive behind the shooting in Dayton, Ohio, which left nine people dead and at least 16 others injured.
Police said they intervened to end the violence, leaving the shooter dead.
The shooting in Dayton followed the mass shooting at a Walmart store in El Paso, Texas hours earlier, where 20 were killed and 26 others wounded.
