This is an unusual  gathering of sorts right in Malaysia. Yes, the traditional East coast Malays rhythm or "dikir barat" was performing loud and clear at one of Kuala Lumpur's most hi-so venues, Publika Mont Kiara ! It was the mid December fest called TAK TUN, A Nite of Heritage Drums. Yes indeed. Pulsating drums and an equally loud troupe  of singers in a most coordinated movement . The crowd loves it and the beat really catches you right there !  The performers are from the quite famous troupe called Dikir Barat Arjunashkim Sukma. The second part of this video shows another troupe in a different variation of Dikir Barat and the audience are invited to join the beat too. All in all, this kind of unique cultural heritage from the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia is a rare sight in the west coast city of Kuala Lumpur. Much so it was at Publika ! Watch and go with the beat !
