The Met Gala is filled with jaw dropping couture moments. When attendees make their entrances up the grand staircase, it’s more like a fashion show than a red carpet and because of this the clothes are next level. Which results in the internet creating the best memes known to man. If memes had a special holiday, it would be the Met Gala. It’s when the internet really lets its imagination run wild and last night’s Gala birthed yet another year of creativity. The most popular meme from last night so far is of Diddy lying down on the stairs posing as Cassie stands next to him. You can’t make this stuff up. He basically made the meme for us. One person tweeted the photo with the caption – “When Waze says "40 minutes to arrival" and you get there in 39.” Another said – “Diddy is out here waiting for James Bond to enter his secret lair.” One person said – “P.Diddy at the #MetGala right now is every man whose wife, girlfriend or daughter said she was just "going for a quick look" in ZARA.” Another said – “Looking like the vampire from Brooklyn.” I just want to know at what moment did he decide to get on the floor.. Another meme favorite is of Rihanna on top of Beyoncé’s head as her headpiece that she wore to a recent art event. Another show stopper is the meme of Pharrel’s wife’s outfit being compared to kool-aid’s mom. Oh but they get even better. Someone compared Bella Hadid’s jumpsuit to a fish caught in a net. And we are all Sarah Paulson spotting Madonna when we see our fave celebrity. Shooketh. Katy Perry’s look was compared to Beetlejuice’s bride, while Priyanka Chopra, who was my favorite btw, gave people detective vibes with one person captioning the photo – “when I'm 115 weeks deep into his social media trying to figure out if he has a girlfriend.” Another captioned it – “when you got a crime investigation at 8pm but prom at 9pm.” Another popular meme moment stemmed from a reporter who was wearing a head piece straight out of Transformers while Tom Brady and Giselle walked the carpet and someone captioned it – “When you're on the #METGala sidelines but ready to sub in at a moment's notice.” You gotta love the internet.
