This Is The Real Malaysia I Know (Plus A Big Announcement)

Today, I went out cycling, trying to hit my personal best for the week and halfway through I stopped by a petrol station to buy a bottle of isotonic drink cause I was flat out tired and needed some electrolytes to at least fuel me the rest of the way.

I went in the petrol station, picked up a bottled drink and realised I didn't bring my wallet, but hey, it's ok, I have QR Pay right?

Lady at the counter, "we don't have any bank QR payments, do you have touch and go e-wallet?"

No, I didn't, so oh wells, my luck, I just decided to save the hassle and just head out without any purchase.

While heading to place the drink back, I heard a voice

"Boy, I tolong bayar la, u transfer Kat I balik, I tengok you kayuh basikal takde air banyak kesian la"

I was speechless, here was this makcik, offering to help me get what I needed. I obliged.

She showed her QR code, I paid her RM20 for a RM3.70 drink. She was shocked and asked why?

Her kindness was priceless, RM20 was the least I could do to appreciate her kindness towards me. It cost her nothing to help me out.

I left that place smiling, riding while thinking to myself

Our country is filled with beautiful people all around.
