Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on Friday denied a report by The Guardian that Malaysia had requested Australian authorities extradite convicted killer Sirul Azhar Umar. He however said the Government will consider the possibility of commuting Sirul's death sentence to life imprisonment. Sirul and and fellow bodyguard, Azila Hadri, were charged with the murder of Mongolian model, Altantuya Shaariibuu, and sentenced to death in 2009. He escaped to Australia in 2014 while out on bail during an appeal against his conviction.
