Delegates at Umno’s annual general assembly (AGM) this year will not be notified of the party’s internal election date, but it will still remain within six months after the general election as set by the Registrar of Societies (RoS).

Umno secretary-general Ahmad Maslan said the RoS had previously approved the party’s constitutional amendment to postpone party elections for six months.

The countdown, Ahmad said, started on the day of the 15th general election (GE15), which took place on Nov 19 last year.
