A voter heartbroken over Hillary Clinton’s Loss bumps into her on a hike, then shares a now-viral pic of the run-in.
It’s days after the presidential election, but people are still mourning Hillary’s loss--but one lucky hiker just got the consolation of a lifetime.
A woman named Margot Gerster explained on Facebook that after feeling heartbroken over the election results, she decided to take her daughters on a hike in New York. While on that hike, she bumped into none other than Hillary and Bill Clinton, who were walking their dogs on the same trail that morning.
Margot wrote of the encounter with Hillary QUOTE, "I got to hug her and talk to her and tell her that one of my most proudest moments as a mother was taking my daughter with me to vote for her...She hugged me and thanked me and we exchanged some sweet pleasantries and then I let them continue their walk." She ended the post saying that while she’s not one to believe signs, she’ll definitely count her run-in with Hillary as one. Yeah, you definitely can’t blame her for that--what an insane and inspiring coincidence!
And Margot obviously isn’t the only voter upset about Hillary’s loss and looking for hope with the shocking outcome--In fact, a petition asking the Electoral College to elect Hillary Clinton instead of Donald Trump for President has amassed over two million signatures in just over 24 hours.
The petition reads QUOTE, "Mr. Trump is unfit to serve. His scapegoating of so many Americans, and his impulsivity, bullying, lying, admitted history of sexual assault, and utter lack of experience make him a danger to the Republic." It further explains that since Secretary Clinton won the popular vote SHE should be president.
So how would this petition actually give Hillary the chance to be President with all the polls now closed? Well, technically the Electoral College doesn't vote until Dec. 19, and those electors DO have the power to choose Clinton instead of Trump — thus overturning the election’s results. So people who are signing this petition are asking electors to vote against their states in order for Clinton to be the official, legal winner. It’s definitely a long shot, but it’s just one more example of people using democracy to fight for what they believe in, and that’s what America is all about, right?!
