We ate our way through Melbourne's most underrated suburb. Where to eat in Thornbury, Melbourne

Today we're exploring Thornbury, a cool, unassuming pocket of Melbourne's north that's packing some seriously good food. First stop was Neighbourhood Kneads, run by PK, who isn't even from Thornbury but fell in love with the neighbourhood and set up shop anyway. We tried the pistachio morning bun and the lemon curd kouign amann plus a gochujang chilli cheese twist straight out of the kitchen.

From there we headed to Pizza Elettrica, an American-inspired pizzeria run by Andrew, who got into pizza making as a lockdown obsession and never looked back. He fired up the oven early just for us and walked us through a classic New York pepperoni pie, an off-menu Grandma Pie (message ahead if you want one), and the Jupiter, a vodka sauce and nduja pizza that's about to hit the menu.

We finished at Carwyn Cellars, a family-owned bottle shop turned full bar and kitchen with 28 beers on tap and half price burgers on Thursdays. Sat in the sun, had a peach sour, and called it a very good day.
