PAS' Islamic struggle has strayed from its original cause as the party idolises leaders who utter rude remarks, Khairuddin Aman Razali said.

The former PAS leader cited the "vulgar" remark by Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor during campaigning for the Pelangai by-election.

"It saddens me to see a senior party leader swearing and uttering vulgar words on the political stage and to be greeted with applause and cheers from party members," he said.
