MCA President Wee Ka Siong said that an Umno-PAS merger would go against the spirit of Barisan Nasional, which was about working together with different races.
He said MCA had stated many times that their core value and ideology are totally different from PAS and as the BN chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi should consider the feelings of the other parties in the coalition as well.
He added that the party's central executive committee would decide on their stand of remaining in BN at its annual general assembly on Dec 2.
