Among the affected areas were Petaling Jaya, Rawang and Gombak.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations chief Alimaddia Bukri said traffic congestion was caused by stagnant water in some major routes, such as in Jalan Persiaran Surian in Petaling Jaya and Jalan B27 near Jusco Rawang.
