Why Disney-Fox Deal Could DESTROY Netflix

Disney and Fox are teaming up in an effort to destroy Netflix and Amazon!
But honestly any competition between these companies is probably a good thing for us.
Disney is full on ready to take over the media world, you guys, because the company just bought 21 Century Fox’s entertainment for 52.4 BILLION DOLLARS. In the deal Disney is acquiring the 21st Century Fox movie studio, FX and National Geographic channels and some regional sports channels, Fox’s stake in Hulu, AND Fox’s stake in the European cable company, Sky.
Okay so that’s a lot, but what does it all mean?! Well apparently it’s Disney and Fox’s move to start seriously competing with streaming services Netflix and Amazon. First of all, this means Disney now owns the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool franchises, along with their Marvel franchises. So basically prepare yourselves for the most epic superhero crossover movie of all time.
It also means Disney owns a majority stake in Hulu now, but that doesn’t mean that Hulu is just going to turn into a streaming service for all things Disney, all day--unfortunately. Not gonna lie, I would have been pretty hyped for that.
But the biggest part of this deal is that it probably has Netflix and Amazon shaking in their boots. Disney has acquired so many properties and so much content in this deal, which will also majorly boost their own streaming platform that the company is launching in 2019. That’s right, people--Disney Netflix is coming!
One executive from private equity firm The Patriarch Organization put the deal this way. He said QUOTE, “Netflix has a hail-fire that’s about to hit them if this deal happens because that means tremendous competition that can also match the scale that Netflix operates in...This gets [Disney] a mammoth amount of programming to be able to strike at the jugular of Netflix during a time where there’s just a lot of risk in the space.”
Translation: Even more AMAZING shows, movies, and overall content is coming our way, thanks to some major competition coming to the streaming world. Does these mean we’ll all have to subscribe to yet another streaming service? That’s definitely a strong probability, but honestly if that means I can stream Beauty and the Beast and Mulan AND all the Avengers movies all day err day, sign me UP!
