Wilmer Valderrama is ALLEGEDLY shattered by Demi’s overdose & had NO idea of her struggles leading up to it.
Wilmer and Demi always spoke about how much they cared for each other even after their breakup, so this comes as no surprise.
According to People Mag, Demi’s ex-boyfriend of six years Wilmer Valderrama was shocked to hear that Demi had suffered an apparent overdose Tuesday morning, and like many of us he did NOT see it coming. An insider told the outlet QUOTE, “He knew she was going through a tough time but he wasn’t prepared for this. He saw her through so many ups and downs and was her rock through some of her darkest moments. To see her back in such a sad and vulnerable place is heartbreaking for him.” The source added that Wilmer QUOTE, “always cared deeply for her and they truly remained friends after they broke up.”
Another source told ET QUOTE, “Even after they broke up, they continued to be very good friends. They have mutual admiration for each other and he has and will always believe in her. He's watched her fall and has seen her rise."
They also mentioned that Wilmer knew that Demi was having a rough time lately, but that he didn’t know how bad it was, saying QUOTE, "[Wilmer] was aware she was going through a bumpy patch because she was forthright with him when she relapsed. But he did not anticipate this.”
Demi has always been vocal about how much she and Wilmer love and care about each other, and she even confessed that she still loves him in her Simply Complicated documentary.

Demi reportedly split with Wilmer for good back in June of 2016, so that she could focus on her ‘Tell Me You Love Me’ tour. In their statement announcing their amicable split, the pair explained to fans that they are better as friends.
Well good, well-intentioned, and loving friends are DEFINITELY what Demi needs right now, and we’re sure Wilmer is one of those such friends and is ready to support Demi any way he can.
