Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi described MetMalaysia's forecast regarding major floods in several states starting December 17th as something to be expected.
However, he noted that it was still merely a forecast.
Referring to MetMalaysia's previous prediction that floods would occur during GE15, Zahid said while it did not happen, he was still the victim of criticism due to his readiness to face GE15 during the monsoon season.
Yesterday, Zahid told a press conference that the coordination at the central, state and district levels should be done immediately in preparation for the floods.
