The government will be introducing three new courses under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme, announced Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
This includes a programme called TVET Tahfiz which is intended to expand career opportunities for students in tahfiz schools.
“There are about 250,000 children in tahfiz schools who need to unravel their future in terms of career opportunities even if they memorise 30 chapters (juzuk) of the Quran,” Zahid told the Dewan Rakyat today.
The Bagan Datuk MP said the government will also implement TVET Junior, a preliminary education programme for primary students which will conduct activities during the school holidays.
