You guys, “This is For My Girls” is the jazzy girl power jam we’ve been waiting for since the Spice Girls retired, and it’s all thanks to some of our favorite female role models.
The empowering track features vocals from Zendaya, Missy Elliot, Kelly Clarkson, Kelly Rowland, Janelle Monae, Chloe & Halle, Jadagrace and Lea Michele. Woah, I don’t think we could pack any more talent into one sentence if we tried. Take a listen…
SO good, right? “This Is For My Girls" was written and recorded as part of the Obama administration's “Let Girls Learn” initiative, as well as the White House's #62MillionGirls campaign, which aims to help "more than 62 million girls around the world" complete their education.” No wonder they brought out all of these powerhouse women--that’s a big goal to achieve, and it’s so awesome that some of our favorite singers, including Zendaya, leant their time and talent to help this awesome cause. Seriously, this track is catchy AF and we’re all about what it represents. The only thing it’s missing is a rap-break from the First Lady herself...like, how amazing would that be? Who knows, maybe there’ll be a remix!
