Ahmad Soffian Mohd Shariff, the former press secretary to Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin, said he quit his job after losing faith in the government.
Speaking to the press in Kuala Lumpur today, he said while he had tremendous respect for Zuraida, the same can't be said about the government.
"Zuraida is a great employer, my personal view is that she is the best minister and leader in the Pakatan Harapan cabinet.
"As a whole, it wasn't because of the ministry or my old job, but I'm not confident with the current government.
"Which is why I resigned, I didn't want to be a thorn in the flesh. I'm not confident in the structure of the government overall," he said.
Ahmad Soffian said the decision to axe his wife, lawyer Syazlin Mansor, from the inquest into the death of firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim also influenced his decision to quit to an extent.
