Muhyiddin Yassin says that he had never issued any fatwa declaring that it was “haram” or forbidden to vote for a Pakatan Harapan candidate, Suhaizan Kaiat in the Sept 9 by-elections.

In a statement yesterday, the Perikatan Nasional chairman said he had used the term “haram” in a speech while on the campaign trail, defending it as simply a figure of speech.
