Malaysiakini has been barred from covering a police event in Kuala Lumpur today, despite receiving an official invitation from Bukit Aman.

Media coverage was expected to begin with the launch by Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail at 12.30pm.

However, at around 11am, a Bukit Aman press officer informed Malaysiakini journalists that they were not allowed to enter.
