Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has taken aim at the government’s label of 2024 as the "Year of Madani Government".
Speaking in the Dewan Rakyat today, he asked the government to be honest and sincere in explaining the introduction and increase of taxes implemented in the country.
Syed Saddiq said that the government previously said that the increase in Sales and Service Tax (SST) was only aimed at the rich when in reality it was the ordinary people who were the worst burdened.
With this, he labelled 2024 as ‘Year of Mahal-dah-ni’.
