印尼林火肆虐导致大马饱受烟霾侵害，大马表明愿意协助灭火后，首相马哈迪也呼吁媒体去询问因为为何不愿接受大马援助？
马哈迪周四中午召开记者会时表示，“我们一直都献议协助，我们有专门用来投水（灭火）的飞机这可以拿来用，我认为媒体也可以帮我们，问印尼为什么不接受大马协助？”
马哈迪也笑称，自己还未直接询问印尼总统佐科威为何不愿接受大马协助。
