The Rio Olympics are all about the competitive events like diving, sprinting and what have you but the open ceremonies, which are my favorite parts of the whole thing, is a chance for over 200 countries to let their pride flag fly and show off a little. And each country expresses themselves a little differently with their unique out and we chose 5 of the best.
First off, we start with a little fancy athletic wear – because everyone hates pants, am I right? Jamaica’s group came out in head-to-toe bright green, yellow and black Puma everything, reflecting the colors directly from the flag. BUT SERIOUS shout out to their flag-bearer who has that ombre yellow and green hair! OMG HAIR GOALS FOR REAL!
Next best outfit goes to the Aussies! The Australia parade looked so fancy, yet casual in their shorts suit combo. But the lining on the jackets, and little patches– they all look like they go to Hogwarts down under!
Another gold medal in the fashion category goes to: Brazil! Along with their awesome energy [probably because they’re hosting the big games], but those printed dresses are actually really in style now, so where can I get one?
Croatia also had strong fashion game with their awesome red and white checkered jackets! I love a loud print especially when it coincides with their flag, and also I think they’re like windbreakers so that makes it even more awesome.
Last but not least, we gotta shoutout our homeland – the US of A in their red, white and blue get up. But it’s navy blue, so it’s classy! Merman/Olympic Champion Michael Phelps held the flag while everyone wore their best accessory – a smile! #MURICA
Also, honorable mention to the neon, arrow Pop-Tart, rubber ducky people guiding all the countries into the right direction. It kinda looks like a snapchat filter right?
So that’s all the fashion we loved, I want to know what YOU guys think right down here in the comments section below – who got the gold when it came to their fashion game. As always, you can tweet me @RudeUnicorns.
