That song is so catchy it should be illegal. But lucky for us, this is ‘Merica, where Miley Cyrus will always be free to be catchy and wear all the pasties her heart desires.
Next up, if you’re into some smoother vibes when you’re chillin’ by the pool, look no further than Lana Del Rey’s National Anthem music video. In it, she plays Jackie Kennedy and ASAP Rocky plays John F. Kennedy. The video shows a montage of their lavish “American Dream” life, all the way up to the infamous presidential assassination.
Not gonna lie, I could definitely get behind a President ASAP Rocky and first lady Lana Del Rey these days.
While the Star Spangled Banner is the official National Anthem, I’d be willing to sign a petition that allows Bruce Springsteen’s Born in the USA to be our second National Anthem, because nothing says ‘Merica quite like Bruce, blue jeans, and carvival rides...
Speaking of carnival rides, next up, Demi Lovato’s Made in the USA video takes place at a carnival and follows the classic tale of two young folks falling in love before the boyfriend joins the US Army and is deployed overseas... The ending of that video is a serious tear-jerker but I can still watch it on repeat.
And last but never least, “American Woman” by Lenny Kravitz is the rock n roll anthem that America deserves as much as it needs..
