5 OMG Moments From Pretty Little Liars 5x13 Christmas Episode

Instead of a creepy Halloween special this year, they decided to mix things up with a Holiday themed show. It pretty much goes without saying, but the gals were having a very SCARY Christmas, and of course, Clevver has got your recap. And dare we say – this special might have been their scariest one yet?!
So just in case you haven’t watched just yet, or want a refresher because SO much happened, we’re breaking down five of the most OMG-worthy moments from Tuesday’s episode. Spoilers ahead – you’ve been warned.
OK so first and foremost, Mona is back – FROM THE GRAVE! Yes, she’s playing a sort of Ghost of Christmas past throughout the episode and Mona gives us a look into how Ali became the Liar that she is today. And she definitely got her start at an early age with her MOM being the reason behind it. We see older Ali watching younger Ali play the piano, and discover a couple of gifts. Being the curious little one that she is, Ali opens both gifts, and sees that there are two identical yellow dresses. Ali’s mom catches her, and tells her that if her dad asks, she only found ONE dress, and makes her repeat the “true” story a couple times. Man, messed up stuff! However, older Ali theorizes about who was meant to receive the other dress, and well:
OK, so moving along to the second OMG moment – it looks like Ali has a new man in her life, and that would be none other than OFFICER HOLBROOK! The Liars were keeping a close eye on Ali at the Holiday Ball because Spencer and Hannah were going to raid Ali’s house thanks to a very friendly map Mona left behind that showed all of Ali’s hiding places. Anyways, while keeping a watchful eye on Ali, Aria spotted her kissing Santa Claus, aka Officer Holbrook. We didn’t know who it was at first, but when Officer Holbrook popped up later in the evening sporting a suspicious looking red suit, everyone put two and two together. This basically means that they could have been working together to frame Spencer for Bethany’s murder! DUN DUN DUN!
Coming in as our number three moment, guess who’s back ya’ll:
IT’s CECE! We weren’t expecting that at all! While having a little chat, Ali tells Cece that she had a dream about her mom warning her about Mona, to which Cece says, Mona can’t hurt you anymore, you know that. Which kind of makes us think…did CECE kill Mona? I mean it could make sense! Either way – Cece also warns Ali about the Liars, which makes us think she KNEW they’d be raiding Ali’s house.
And that leads us right into the number four OMG moment – when A attacks Hannah! As we mentioned earlier, Spencer and Hannah were searching Ali’s house, but Hannah was deep into her search, and forgot to bring her phone, so she couldn’t get any warning as to the imminent A attack. She got knocked out – but it wasn’t a total loss! She found an old note from Bethany that basically PROVES Ali was the one who lured her to come to Rosewood on Labor Day weekend, which would create enough reasonable doubt to clear Spencer in Bethany’s murder. A Christmas miracle indeed!
While everything seems like it ended on a lovely, happy note – this is Pretty Little Liars, so you know that can’t be the case. For our number five OMG moment, we’re just going to leave you with this:
Come on, did they really think A would take Christmas off from terrorizing them?
And of course, we had to give an honorable mention to this little moment where the fellas – and Paige! – gave the Liars a Christmas morning surprise.
