In an interview with Malaysiakini today, the puppy's owner Vimala Arumugam recalled how their family was saved from a fire thanks to the little pup.

In the incident that took place at 5am, Vimala was alerted to the fire when Anandavelli tirelessly yanked the shirt she was wearing.
