Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani has been appointed as the new inspector-general of police, effective next Tuesday (May 4).

The new top cop received his appointment letter from Home Minister Hamzah Zainudin.

He will be replacing Abdul Hamid Bador, whose tenure ends on Monday.

At present, Acryl Sani's time as IGP is set to expire when he retires on Oct 3 this year.
