In his first press conference after clocking in as prime minister, Anwar Ibrahim said his priority is to tackle rising prices and address cost of living issues.

"I have sought a detailed discussion on immediate steps to be taken to reduce this pressure (on the people) and I will hold an urgent meeting with the relevant departments and agencies soon.

"If they don't mind, I’m asking to meet this weekend or by Monday at the latest. I know it's a public holiday, but if they don't mind, they can postpone the day off," he said.
