A Malaysian fisherman finally arrived home today after serving a 2-year prison sentence in Indonesia.
Chia Kee Chan, 52, was arrested in Feb 2016 by Indonesia’s fishery authorities for encroaching into the country’s waters, along with four other crew members. In April of the same year, Chia was sentenced to two years and four months’ jail at the Labuhan Deli prison in Medan.
Chia also attended a press conference held by Budiman Zohdi, former Sungai Besar MP.
