PKR president Anwar Ibrahim has become the second person to deny the authenticity of a recorded conversation purportedly between him and Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi after the Umno general assembly.
Unlike Zahid, who is now facing mounting pressure even from his own party, Anwar said PH members have been understanding.
Earlier this week, a four-minute audio clip has been making rounds where a person who sounded like Anwar praised the person who sounded like Zahid over the latter's handling of the Umno general assembly.
Anwar's denial comes after Zahid said he was "shocked" and "disappointed" over the allegation and claimed that he was a victim of a political scheme to weaken or destroy Umno.
