Former Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim should have appointed former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad as a minister mentor to represent Malaysia at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit and send him to Riyadh for the meeting.

Speaking during the Keluar Sekejap podcast yesterday, Khairy said that although it was a ridiculous and out-of-the-box suggestion in practice, Mahathir presence at the meeting would have brought a different level of 'gravitas' on raising issues, such as on Palestine.
