Fahmi comes from a reformist party, shouldn't respond like an Umno minister, says Khairy

Former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin has responded to Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil over his response to criticism about Malaysia's ranking in the press freedom index.

Khairy said Fahmi is in the government now, not in the opposition and he comes from PKR, a reformist party.

He added that Fahmi shouldn’t respond like an Umno minister.

The 2024 World Media Freedom Index report published by RSF recently showed that Malaysia's position fell 34 places to 107, compared to last year's position of 73.
