Arden Cho Announces She's Leaving Teen Wolf, Shocks Fans

In a heartfelt vlog, Teen Wolf’s Arden Cho announced that her character, Kira, will not be returning when the show kicks off it’s 6th season. “unfortunately it looks like we are wrapped up with Kira’s storyline and she won’t be coming back for season 6,” she expresses before saying QUOTE “Wow. This is really hard.”
When season 5 ended, fans didn’t really know what to expect, but most of us didn’t actually think Arden wouldn’t be returning with the rest of the cast. So it’s a tough pill to swallow- and for Arden too, who expressed her feelings in the vid. The actress told her fans…
She also went on to apologize for previously stating she was excited for season 6, so we can assume that not even she knew that season 5 would be the last season for Kira. Regardless, Arden has nothing but love for the fans that have supported her on the show. She expressed QUOTE “I loved my experience on Teen Wolf. I love the cast and crew. It’s been an amazing almost 3-and-a-half years.”
Now, fans are speaking out about the surprising news. And they’re really not happy. One Youtube comment reads, in part, “the one thing 'Teen Wolf' lacks is the respect of cast members. ... In my opinion, Arden as Kira was one of the best things that happened on the show… And seeing her leave like this makes me sad." Another fan agrees, stating QUOTE “it's completely disloyal to [Cho] as an actress. I love the show, but they need to rethink some of their choices, it's just going downhill.” Some fans even admitted they would have appreciated Shelley Hennig’s character, Malia, getting the boot instead, saying QUOTE "[Malia's] storyline with the Desert Wolf was even more irrelevant than Kira's…I feel like the directors favor Shelley Hennig.”
Yikes. Fortunately, Cho did give us all a little hope for the future. In the vid she says QUOTE “"You never know with Teen Wolf! People might come back. It is what it is." I guess only time will tell, but we wish Arden nothing but the best.
