Get your voting devices ready because the second wave of Teen Choice Awards nominees just came crashing in.
Captain America, Star Wars, and Pretty little Liars are just a few of the latest TCA nominees that were revealed, but let’s be real here, are any of you guys REALLY surprised these movies and shows got a nom? Didn’t think so.
In this second wave of nominees, Captain America: Civil War scored the most nominations. The action packed film leads the movie category with six noms, while Star Wars followed closely with five. It’s going to be a pretty close race between all of the nominees in each category. In the Choice Movie Hissy Fit group, Adam Driver is nominated for his amazing tantrum in Star Wars and is going up against Zac Efron, Kevin Hart, Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, and Jason Sudeikis for the surfboard trophy.
Other categories under the movie umbrella include Choice Movie Chemistry, Choice Movie Breakout Star, Choice Movie Scene Stealer, Choice Movie Villain, and last but not least, Choice Movie Liplock, which has some of the hottest on-screen couples going against each other. Those nominated in the steamy category include: Chris Hemsworth and Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson, Shailene Woodley and Theo James, Chris Evans and Emily VanCamp, Emilia Clarke and Sam Clafin, and Henry Cavill and Amy Adams. May the best movie kiss win the shiny surfboard.
When it comes to the TV screen, Pretty Little Liars pretty much dominated the category with five noms, bringing their total to a whopping 11 nominations. The ladies are pretty much killin’ the game, but they’re not the only ones getting a ton of love. Teen Wolf comes second during this wave of nominees with four nominations. Some of the categories in the TV section include Choice Villain with Lea Michele, Janel Parrish, Teddy Sears, Cameron Monaghan, Greg Germann, and Brett Dalton all in the running for a cool surfboard.
Choice TV: Scene Stealer, Breakout Star, Breakout Show, Chemistry, TV Actor, Actress, Summer TV and Liplock are just a few of the other categories. While each category in itself has a bunch of great nominees, I’m actually really curious as to why Haleb wasn’t nominated in the Choice TV Liplock category. Sorry in advanced for the spoiler alert, but was that kiss at the season 6 was AMAZING. Those two were totally snubbed.
Anyway, when it comes to music, both Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato received five nominations each – which is definitely no surprise at all. Both ladies had killer albums last year and they’re both doing pretty well for themselves. Justin Bieber managed to grab himself three nominations and two of them are in the same category as Selena’s, so…it’ll be interesting to see how that will play out. It also looks like bands are going strong this year, both DNCE and 5 Seconds of Summer received four nominations. And even though One Direction is still on hiatus, the group managed to get themselves a nom for their song, Perfect.
This second wave also included three categories in the sports section, Choice Male Athlete, Choice Female Athlete, and Choice Sports Team. So, what are you guys waiting for? Go get your votes in at TeenChoice.com and may your faves take home a ton of surfboards that night.
