Mac Miller’s close friend Shawn Powers reveals just how supportive Ariana Grande was throughout Mac Miller’s journey to sobriety
On Monday, Shawn Powers opened up about his good friend, Mac Miller, who sadly passed away from a reported overdose on Friday, September 7th, on his Podcast, ‘The Shane Show.’ & during the episode, even got into what Mac’s relationship with Ariana Grande was really like. He said QUOTE “Ariana and him were together and they were very much in love, and I have to say, she was incredible when he was first sobering up. She was a f--king G to him. There could not have been anybody more supportive of him being sober than Ariana."
Now as you may know, this podcast episode comes, after all of the hate online that Ariana received, when people were blaming her for Mac Miller’s overdose.
But Shawn made sure to make it clear, just how supportive she was through everything, adding QUOTE "I saw that, I was around it, I took phone calls from her, 'How do I help? What do I do?' This little girl was unbelievably involved and helpful to him being healthy,"
As for how Ari has been doing since news broke, a source told PEOPLE QUOTE “Ariana completely broke down after she found out about Mac, she can’t believe he isn’t here anymore. He was such a special person to her. She is very, very sad…this is a nightmare for her.”
