Ariana Grande is set to resume her world tour in Paris tonight, and as a special gift for fans, she’s also released her cover of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” in honor of the Manchester victims.
Once again proving that love most definitely conquers all, it’s now vital to Ari that the show must go on!
Nearly two weeks after the deadly terrorist attacks in Manchester following Ariana Grande’s show that killed 22 people, Ariana has decided to resume her Dangerous Woman tour tonight in the beautiful city of Paris. Following the attacks, Ari has since cancelled shows she was set to perform in London, Belgium, Germany, Poland and Switzerland, as she returned to Florida, before returning back to Manchester on Sunday to headline the benefit show for victims of the attack.
Security will undoubtedly be extra tight in the French capital tonight, which comes just one day after police shot and injured a man who attacked an officer outside the world-famous Notre Dame cathedral. Roads will also be blocked off around Accorhotels Arena concert venue while police will help security guards to check fans as they arrive for the show.
Many fans attending the show have expressed slight concern for their safety, however they feel it is their duty to not let fear come between the love that is sure to be spread tonight. 19-year-old student Clodagh Ennis said QUOTE, “I feel that not going to the concert would be letting terrorists win, that's what they want, they want people to be scared, so still attending despite the attacks is like a protest against them. I do wonder what the concert will be like, will it go as normal, will it be sad, but I think the best thing to do is go and show our support for her, and try to enjoy it as much as we can.”
One thing fans may be able to expect tonight is Ariana’s emotional cover of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”, the song she closed out Sunday’s benefit show with, and has since released to the public, in which all of its proceeds will go directly to the victims. The track follows Ari’s re-release of her 2014 hit “One Last Time”, which is also sending its proceeds to benefit the cause.
But if you’re anyone who is ANYONE, you, too, probably unleashed a pool of tears followed by a range of emotions during Ari’s performance of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” on Sunday, that looked a little something like this:
Ariana posted a video to her Instagram yesterday of this baby-gone-viral, tearing up while watching her belt out the Wizard of Oz cover, even attempting to sing along.
If that isn’t enough to get you through your mid-week slump, well I really don’t know what to tell you. So by now, it’s clear that Ari is a literal angel on earth, so right now, I want you guys to take this time to share some love and kind words to her after all she’s done over the past few weeks, so get to talking right down here in the comments. After that, be sure to click right over here to see the tattoos she and her crew got in honor of Manchester. Thanks so much for hanging out with me here on Clevver news, I’m your host Miriam Isa, now go out and spread some love today.
