Be careful of Malaysiakini's headlines, cautions PAS veep

PAS supporters should be wary of media outlets acting as a purported tool to raise doubts and sow discord among party leaders and members, according to PAS vice-president Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah.
In his winding-up speech at the 65th PAS Muktamar, Nik Amar took a swipe at several media outlets including Malaysiakini for allegedly having an agenda against the party through purportedly negative headlines.
"No matter how good these media may seem to be with us, they will always give us a negative impression, particularly Malaysiakini.
"I will just say it outright because Malaysiakini often the headlines give a negative impression of our leaders' statements," claimed the Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar.
"Although sometimes the contents are good, but the title...(is not) And some of us only like to read the headline without reading the contents," he said, adding that the failure to read has resulted in unfair criticisms being made against PAS and its leaders.
"That is why I stress on the need to be careful.
"If in the past it was Berita Harian and Utusan Malaysia, nowadays we can add another one, Malaysiakini," said Mohamad Amar who did not cite any examples but claimed to have personally been the subject of such negative headlines.
