We’re counting down the days until Disney’s live-action version of Beauty and the Beast comes out, and these new character posters have us more pumped than ever!
We’ve seen what Emma Watson, the Beast, and some of the animated characters will look like in the film thanks to the trailers, but the newly released character posters are giving us a closer look at what ALL the characters will look like in the live-action version of their roles--From Gaston to Lumiere, and everyone inbetween!
One look at each of the posters will tell you that Disney completely NAILED it when it came to casting the film. For example, Josh Gad, who also plays the voice of Olaf in Disney’s ‘Frozen’, could not be more perfect as the nerdy, conniving, and over-eager henchman to Gaston, Lefoe!
And speaking of Gaston, Luke Evans looks so good as the film’s main villain that it’s almost making us wonder why Belle is so hesitant to marry him at the beginning of the movie--I mean sure he’s a total jerk, but Luke Evans is so handsome he’s making it hard for us to remember why we hate Gaston so much.
Speaking of dashing men in the film, Dan Stevens’s character poster for the Prince, aka: Beast in human form, is giving us flashback of the actor’s days on Downton Abbey, where he also played a suave and noble gentleman. Although if Disney is sticking to the original Beauty and the Beast plot, we’re probably in for a lot more “Beast” versions of Dan than “Prince” version...
Disney also released posters for the real-life versions of the other “cursed” characters in the film. Ewan McGregor’s romantic and cheeky “come with me, mademoiselle!” look is spot on for Lumiere, and Emma Thompson’s sweet and smiling portrait of a real-life Mrs. Potts holding a cup of tea is completely on the nose. The actors are all so perfect for their roles that it’’s almost making us wish these characters were portrayed in human-form the entire time, but then again that would probably spoil the plot of the whole movie, so let’s just hope Disney adds in a few flashbacks to give them some more IRL screen time.
And last but not least, although we’ve already gotten a tease of what Emma will look like in Belle’s iconic yellow-gold ball gown from the trailers, her character poster gives us a closer look at just how stunning and perfect she looks in the role.
