It’s almost morphin’ time for the cast of the new Power Rangers movie! We’re roughly a year away from seeing the new Power Rangers take on Rita Repulsa on the big screen, but until then, here’s a first look at the whole cast to hold you over.
Sadly, Becky G, RJ Cyler, Naomi Scott, Ludi Lin, and Dacre Montgomery aren’t all suited up in their Power Rangers gear for the photo, but it’s better than nothing! Entertainment Weekly published the very first photo of the new cast on their site for Power Rangers fans and I don’t know about you, but these guys and gals look like they definitely mean business.
The magazine also talked to the film’s director, Dean Israelite, and he revealed that the new Power Rangers movie will be a coming of age story for these “disenfranchised and disparate” high schoolers who aren’t necessarily friends at the beginning of the movie. Well, they may not be friends on screen, but off screen the cast is getting along just fine.
In fact, on Becky’s 19th birthday, all of her co-stars reached out to her via Twitter and Instagram and sent her loving wishes on her big day. But, before the pop star turned the big one-nine, she celebrated the final hours of being an 18-year-old by dancing in an empty NYC restaurant with the waiters and her team.
Becky shared a couple videos of her dancing along to Marc Anthony on Instagram and wrote on the final dance video of the night, “Last ones in the restaurant and we even got the waiters to dance with us. This was before we got them all out to dance. Happiness is nice when you share it.” It sure is!
