Becky G Gives PERFECT Response To Playing LGBTQ Superhero & Stuns On Power Rangers Red Carpet

Becky G is making waves as she stars as the first LGBTQ superhero in the all-new Power Rangers movie, but according to her, it’s totally NBD.
Alright movie directors, we’ve had this talk before… it’s 2017, shouldn’t gay characters be like, the norm by now?
Becky G is making history as the first-ever gay superhero to grace the big screen, but when asked about her thoughts on playing a gay superhero in the new Power Rangers film, she couldn’t have had a more perfect response because really, what year is it now people?! Becky chatted with TMZ where rather than all the hype that has come with playing a gay Power Ranger, she revealed that she has more of a problem with playing a gay Power Ranger just this year. Take a look:
Seriously could not have said that better myself! As you’ll come to find out if you haven’t already, Becky plays the yellow power ranger named Trini, who deals with ‘girlfriend problems’ throughout the film. Power Rangers director, Dean Israelite, reveals that Becky’s character addresses her sexuality in the film while still “questioning a lot about who she is,” saying, “She hasn't fully figured it out yet. I think what's great about that scene and what that scene propels for the rest of the movie is, ‘That's OK.’ The movie is saying, ‘That's OK,’ and all of the kids have to own who they are and find their tribe.”
Becky clearly couldn’t be more thrilled to represent the LGBTQ community, making all-new strides in the film industry, AND just yesterday, she proudly arrived to the LA Power Rangers premiere in her character’s color, of course, wearing a stunning sleeveless lemon yellow dress with a high slit, paired with sliver heels and diamond earrings.
Power Rangers hits theaters tonight at midnight and is expected to exceed box office expectations in its grand opening, BUT you also can expect even more to come, as Saban Entertainment founder Haim Saban dished to Variety that there are plans for FIVE sequels stemming from this film. He revealed QUOTE, “We already have a six-movie story arc.” He added, “Today’s young audience is much more sophisticated. Think about movies like Jungle Book and Arrival. The effects are mind-boggling. So does the young audience expect more? You bet they do – and they will have it.”
Seems like a big promise to uphold but assuming the entire cast will sign on for the remainder of the series, we’re sure they will NOT disappoint.
