Bella Thorne’s series ‘Famous In Love’ might get the ax, but it’s HOW Bella found out that’s got her Pissed AF.
Rule #1: Don’t tell your lead actress her show is probably canceled… through a tweet. Not okay.
For all you fans of Hulu and Freeform’s Famous in Love, the show isn’t totally dead YET. But things are NOT looking good. Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that QUOTE "Freeform initially wanted to do a third season of the expensive series" but that also wanted mo money from their streaming partner Hulu. Yikes. And to make things worse, the source said that Bella frequently clashed on set with the showrunner, Marlene King, who by the way also created Pretty Little Liars. Supposedly Throne exhibited QUOTE "diva-like behavior" on set and she wanted out of her contract and of the show.
But seems like this was all just a case of fake news because Marlene herself tweeted QUOTE “Despite what may be out there I am not in a feud w @bellathorne. We have, and have always had, a friendly and professional relationship.” Which Bella then retweeted, the internet equivalent of “Yah, what she said.” But the nastiest part of this report is that the cast had no idea that the show was struggling to stay alive. In fact, here’s what the former Disney actress tweeted yesterday: QUOTE “If this is how I find out our show is canceled… I’m going to be so upset. Very hurtful freeform. I woulda liked a phone call maybe. However, the series, which stars Bella Thorne as Paige — a normal girl thrust into the Hollywood spotlight when her acting career takes off — isn’t goners yet. According to Freeform, the fate of the show is still undecided. QUOTE “No decision has been made at this time,” the network told EW. King even took to Twitter to express her hope that the show gets a 3rd season. QUOTE “FACT: The ENTIRE @FamousInLoveTV cast and crew are crossing our fingers and toes as we light candles for a S3 pickup. #Raige On!” Ok. So brace yourselves for the worst, and hope for the best. And if this show actually does get the axe, expect a lot of angry tweets from Bella.
