A new teaser clip is showing fans why Emma Watson’s Belle is gonna be one of the most modern princesses we’ve ever seen.
In the latest teaser dropped in anticipation of Beauty and the Beast’s March 17th release, director Bill Condon and cast members break down exactly what makes Emma’s version of Belle a Disney Princess fit for the 21st century.
And Josh Gad, who plays LeFou in the film, shares why he think’s Emma’s Belle is the perfect role model for young girls around the world.
In addition to the cast and crew praising Emma’s updated and “empowered” version of Belle, the clip also features the scene where Belle takes control of her plight and plots her escape from the Beast.
Spoiler alert: She doesn’t very far, but that ends up working out for the best. This featurette is just one of many teasers Disney has released to get fans excited about the movie, but honestly I’m starting to wonder if they realize they’re practically giving the whole thing away before anyone can even buy a ticket! And while it’s great to see the cast and crew talk about how excited they are about modernizing the fairy tale, I think we’re all just about ready to make that judgment for ourselves by actually seeing the film.
But what about you guys--are you excited to see what Emma’s take on Belle? And are you ready for Disney to finally release the whole damn movie instead of just throwing all these teasers at us?! Sound off in the comments section below, and after that click here to see how Josh Gad revealed that his character LeFou is gay, and be sure to subscribe! Thanks so much for hanging with me on News Feed, I’m your host Ryland Adams and I’ll see you guys next time!
