The stunning beauty guru is coming clean and holding nothing back in one of her most honest interviews yet, and trust me, you won’t wanna miss this!
Gracing the cover of the newest issue of Latina Mag, a smiling Bethany wears a white, floral body-hugging dress and rocks a messy updo. In the issue, she holds nothing back as she reveals that her journey hasn’t exactly been all smiles and the effects that cyber bullying had on her.
She recalls receiving harsh criticism online, saying, QUOTE, "It got to the point where I had really bad anxiety. I could barely eat. I would get excited because I could actually put one meal down. I didn't even want to hang out with family members. I couldn't go to the mall because I started get anxiety attacks when I was around a lot of people.”
She recalled that her dark days lasted for about half a year, but began to see that light as she joined the YouTube community. She said, “I just remember feeling oh my God, this is going to be my life forever. I'm always going to be too scared to live life and to love myself. I got to this point like I don't even know if I can shake this. I feel like I'm stuck here. That's when I started doing the videos.”
The Dancing With the stars alumn is now able to preach self-acceptance through her videos, and has a newfound love for herself. Although she knows there will always be harsh comments, she reveals that knowing who she is, no matter what people say, is what she’s focusing on, and that not reading from a script has helped maintain her authenticity online saying, "I've never played a character in my videos. It's just all me. That's actually what I found so appealing about YouTube — you can get that one-on-one connection with someone who just genuinely wants to speak to you and tell you their opinion and their thoughts."
And as for her longevity on YouTube, don’t worry Motavators, Bethany ain’t goin’ anywhere! She says that she sees herself on YouTube for as long as she can, so get your requests in for videos because the list is quickly fillin’ up!
